Straight hair tutorial- With SSS Starter set (HD)
10:25Protective styles - Wig
03:54Not really a wig, but you get the picture lol |
After the setback I had during my sew in I simply had to remind myself that not every hairstyle is for everybody. I just can't take sew-ins for longer than a week or two and with the time required to install it, that is not an option lol. I want to feel my scalp breath but I can't with weaves, but I know that my hair loves wigs so why not DIY?
We all know that I am not a professional so I did fail a bit, but practice makes perfect.
A video with tips, tricks and warnings will be up.
Maximum Hydration Method challenge: Day 2
03:19I sectioned my hair into two halves, I wanted the part to be in a zigzag motion but it was kind of a fail lol. Working with one half at the time I applied the gel by smoothing it on with my hands and then I used the boar bristle brush (?).
That brush is the BUSINESS! |
Twist out trial (Again)
08:44I twisted my whole head by using Beautiful Textures Curl Control on wet hair sealed with DermOrganic Leave-in treatment. |
After I was done twisting my whole head which tookme awhile since my hair is thick which requires smaller sections for a defined twist out. I had them for about 3 days, during this time I wore my wig so nobody knew what was underneath and that is good because I looked crazy with that shrinkage..
I kept the twists moisturized by spritzing them daily as usual but a bit more often. Baggying was done one time overnight. |
This is the twist out after a few days and after wash day with water, DC and conditioner. The definition was still alive lol. Note that the results will vary depending on your hair type. |
Quick Fix Twists
08:12Close up of the hair. As you can see, you can't tell where my hair ends matter of fact you can't see it at all unless you for some reason would stare at my hair.. |

New protective style - Peruvian hair by Divine Hair Sweden
12:43So after the incident with my "old" bundles from Divine Hair Sweden. I decided to get myself some new bundles because that color I got with the blonde spray was such a summer look.
The front of my hair was braided in smaller cornrows to help the closure lay flat. Edges are left out by brushing them away with pure Aloe Vera gel. |
When it comes to sewing on the wefts the most important thing is your part. Side part, middle part etc. This is the first thing people will notice. Especially if it looks like Moses been there to help you part it..
Edge control or pure Aloe Vera gel will do the trick to blend that weave in.
This is how the back of the lace closure looks like. |
If everything goes right then the video of the results will be on YouTube. I am also planning to color/bleach the hair so keep an eye open.
DIY moisturizing hair spritz - New ingredient added
13:46One thing I always suggest to people when they ask for advice on their hair is to keep your hair properly moisturized. But with all the products and ingredients you can find today, the beauty supply store is the last place you want to visit.
This spritz has definitely changed my hair to the better since a couple of spritzs daily is enough to boost the moisture level. It can be used during twists, weave, braids, cornrows, wigs and etc. There is no limit or excuse as long as you can reach your scalp in one or another way. And the ingredients are good for your hair, and they can also be used for other purposes, but that is another post lol.
For the base of this spritz you need:
- Water ( I use pre-boiled water)
- Rose water
- Oil/-s
- Spray bottle
- Essential oils ( Ex. tea tree oil for dandruff, jojoba for dry scalp, almond oil for damaged hair)
- Conditioner
- Aloe vera juice or aloe vera gel
- Infused water (Tea, herb infused water and etc)
About a month ago I ran out of the rose water and I decided to see how the spritz would work without it.
Except that my beloved rose water is back I decided to switch the water to green tea instead because I am trying to keep wash day and my hair routine as simple as possible. So if I can get the benefits of the tea without having to do tea rinses then why not?
Aloe vera gel is a common ingredient on my blog for many reasons, rose water, organic and unrefined coconut oil & almond oil. |
When it comes to the amount of each ingredients there is no right or wrong. It depends on your hair condition, type, density and etc. Regardless of the ingredients you use, the consistency you are looking for is basically liquid.
