MSM- Side effects & benefits

The life cycle of your hair consists of 3 phases: growing, resting, and shedding. Not only is sulfur(MSM aka Methylsulfonylmethane) a building block for your hair, it also has been shown to lengthen the growing phase of your hair. A longer growing phase (before resting and shedding) means longer hair. Epecially along with length retention. 


Except being beneficial for hair growth MSM is also known for: 
• Being anti-inflammatory 
• Decreases muscle soreness
• Immune normalizing effect
• Increased thickness & strength for nails
• Softer skin
• Redyces scar tissues 
• Increases blood flow
• Increased energy
• Oral hygiene
• Mood elevation
• PMS
• Obesity
• Reduces muscle spasms

Then there is two side effects that can be beneficial at the same time. 
- MSM can inhabit cholinesterase which is the enzyme that is mostly responsible for constipation. 
- The antiparasitic qualities of MSM can be used for giardia, which causes diarrhea.  
Vitamin C can also cause diarrhea. 

My conclusion: MSM doesn't really have side effects in my opinion, it's all about listening to your body's reaction. Start slowly to then go higher, some people open up the capsule and take half of it. 
Other take it along with vitamin c while others recommend to take it after eating since taking it in an empty stomach can upset your stomach.
