Not really a wig, but you get the picture lol

After the setback I had during my sew in I simply had to remind myself that not every hairstyle is for everybody. I just can't take sew-ins for longer than a week or two and with the time required to install it, that is not an option lol. I want to feel my scalp breath but I can't with weaves, but I know that my hair loves wigs so why not DIY?

We all know that I am not a professional so I did fail a bit, but practice makes perfect.

I twisted my whole head by using Beautiful Textures Curl Control on wet hair sealed with DermOrganic Leave-in treatment.

After I was done twisting my whole head which tookme awhile since my hair is thick which requires smaller sections for a defined twist out. I had them for about 3 days, during this time I wore my wig so nobody knew what was underneath and that is good because I looked crazy with that shrinkage..

Wearing a weave is in my opinion seen as a low to no manipulation styles depending on what type of wig it is (u-part, half wig etc) and how you choose to maintain your natural hair underneath.

So I have already shown you guys some pictures of the wig, but as I promised more will come. Meanwhile here is a pic of the part when it has been styled.

I applied some foundation to the lace part because I noticed that the lace part tends to sheen at times. When I took the picture I realized that a part of the roots close to the part was "dirty" due to the foundation. Failure makes perfect!

I left out the hairline when I braided my hair so I simply parted my hairline at the same direction that the part was. Then -I applied Keracare Edge Tamer with a toothbrush, but I noticed that I had flyways during the day. Maybe because it was hot outside or because my hair was dry when I applied it. I need to experiment more to find the right gel solution.

This wig has an L-part with lace front. As you can tell by the picture the lace is really transparent.

Along the hairline at the very front the wig has knots instead of being wefted all the way. This gives it a more natural look.

• Wash your hair as usal with shampoo or organic ACV. I do not reccomend co-washing/balsam metoden with regular conditioners since conditioners is not made to cleanse your hair. 

• Moisturizing your hair with this type of protective styles can be hard but a spray bottle will do the trick. Purchase rosewater, aloe vera juice/gel, glycerine, oils and etc to do it yourself. Even plain water with some conditioner and oils will get the job done better than many store bought braid sprays. If you want to buy the I reccomend Creme of Nature's leave in spray.

So I have no idea if what short term protective style I can do that wont require too much styling or care.. I don't even have options :( 

I have been really tempted to use edge tamer and/or gel because the braids along the hairline is getting frizzy the loser they get and I have flyways soo..  I applied pure aloe vera gel to damp hair and voilà c'est tout ! 

Do you use the braiding hair straight out of the package and to prevent it from unraveling you burn the ends or put rubber bands? 

Due to the rainy/snowy weather I decided to take my protective style down. For my likings and for the braiding hair and my natural hair to blend in , it requires gel. 

Lately I haven't updated as much as usual when it comes to my hair regimen. Well since I have a sew in as protective style for now there isn't as much to do with my hair underneath and I pretty much have the same routine except the LOC method.
