A looooooooong very long time ago (we are talking months ago) I found out about the SSS Plates on Instgram, but back then it was only a kickstarter project. At first I thought to myself no way that I am paying 50 something dollars for a hair tool that I don't know anything about (at this point no one had received it yet) and plus it was from overseas so if I don't want it, whatever the reason we all know I sure don't have the time to go through the process to send it back...
Then I thought some more and realized that hey why not? I mean I didn't use heat at all on my hair until my first straigthening session that was just recently so I gave it a try.
 
Unfortunately the kickstarter project was shut down and the refund process started.
I sent several messages since it took a good amount of time until I received my refund, matter of fact some people on Instgram even contacted me regarding the SSS Plates, long story short at one point I simply sent a message thorugh Instgram to let her know that I wanted her to send me my order in a day or two or otherwise the only solution is refund. And finally the SSS plates are now here with with me.


Introduction:
The SSS Plates are sold by CWK (Curly, Wavy, Kinky) Girls founder Kelechi Bradley. Note that since back during the kickstarter project the plates have been re-newed. The plates now come with an additional part which is a curling tool that I haven't tried yet, but I will let you guys know when I have.
 
The original price for the SSS Starter set is $54,99 ≈ 460 SEK, but it has been sold at a discount price of $49,99 ≈ 420SEK (including shipping*) for awhile now. When it was a kickstarter project there was different pricing options depending on the amount of plates in each set.
SSS Starter set gives you a total of 56 plates/set, 16 root stretchers, 24 middle stretchers and 16 end/curl plates. I did count them when I received them and the number was correct, I even think that I received one or two extra middle stretchers.

This is how the plates look like when installed. In my case I add an extra root stretcher to each section since my ends won't stay in.

The plates was set on freshly washed hair (Products used will be shared on my instagram) and kept over night simply because I always let my hair airdry and I didn't want it to take the whole next day. I have seen people using it on both wet/damp and dry hair so it is upt to you.

Now let me tell you something it was not comfortable at all. However the results are not bad at all. See picture below.

Would I recommend it? I have fine hair and don't use heat on my hair so for me with the shrinkage I have, an heat free stretching tool sounded very appealing. Thus far I feel like the price is too expensive, but at the same time I don't know how much the production costs per set. I have only tried it once so I can't say enough yet. I will play around with it and see how it works with different styling options.

It is for you if you want to limit the use of heat/don't use heat on your hair, stretch your hair without having to manipulate it too much, straighter hair without having to use a bunch of heat or hair products.

The second product of Afrostore.se test panel was two full size products by Aphogee from the Curlific! line.
I did my research and read on the ingredients and the products are filled with protein since they are specifically for damaged and colored hair. Now the first thing I thought was to use a conditioner after the hair wash to prevent protein overload. At the same time I thought that I wouldn't be able to see how the products truly worked if I would use another conditioner.

After unbraiding my cornrows I sectioned my hair with my butterfly clamps and went to wash my hair. The shampoo/hair wash was nice and a little bit goes a long way for sure. But when it came to the mask.. my hair didn't enjoy that at all. 

The first product for us that are in the testpanel for Afrostore.se was three products from Mixed Roots. For those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile you might remember that these same products was given to me when I got the magazine from Afrostore.se so I have tried it a couple of times already. At first I thought it was a generous sample size, but I was wrong.
One sachet can last up to 2-4 times depending on the length and thickness of your hair.

I used to be a product junkie, buying almost everything with good reviews on the net. I've learned and I've lost lol. So this blog cathegory will be a so called hiss eller diss as we say in swedish.. Now there are many products I could put on here but I'm only gonna take the one's I used correct and for a long time enough to know that they didn't/did work.

Pros:

• Contains E and B vitamin, keratin, castor oil and silk protein.
• Gives a nice hold to the hair without leaving it with a white residue and keeping it crunchy.

Cons:

• Not sure of how natural the ingredients mentioned are.
• Leaves my hair greasy.

Where to buy it?

In the beginning of my hair journey I was a product junkie. I ended up with several jars that were almost full. Later on I understood that I was using them the wrong way but I have also learned that simplicity is the best for my hair.
The IC Fantasia Hair Polisher Styling Gel is one of them. I was so happy that my hair finally gonna be sleek and laid ,but no... No match at all, my hair got even more coily and shrunk :|.. I was so disapointed ant the jar was so big that I had to find a way to use it even if my hair didn't like it.

By adjusting the amount of hair gel and mixing it with different oils and creams I finally managed how to use it for my hair. My hair doesn't get sleek or laid but this product smooths my hair. I am still looking for something for my edges but that's another story.

+ It is alcohol free and doesn't flake or leaves a white residue unless you use too much. Less is more.

Where to find it?

If you stay in Sweden like me then you can find it in basically any african store that sells hair products. I think I bought mine for about 60-70 Swedish crowns. Which I think a little too much ,but it was a big jar and I'm only using a little bit at the time so I'm good.
If you don't know where to find an african store or if you stay outside Sweden than you buy it online for a cheaper price, I can guarantee you that but keep in mind that some sites don't offer free shipping for all countries.
